We will be starting bike clubs again just after school during the week. Again Tuesdays and Thursdays will suit JGPS pupils best. Please indicate your 1st and 2nd choice of day.. We will try to keep everything the same as before, but our new meeting point for those days is on Bruntsfield Links just opposite JGPS.

This is because Edinburgh Council’s current instruction to schools is that there are to be no school clubs. However, cycling’s governing body Scottish Cycling, has updated it’s guidance in line with Scottish Government guidelines – these make it clear we are fine to go ahead with our bike clubs. Please spread the word so we have enough to run as the school will not be publicising clubs till things are reviewed in October.

(If those days don’t suit, please bear in mind that we will also be doing Wednesday (P1/2s) and Fridays (P3-7s). Start point would be near Sciennes PS on the Meadows across from Victor Hugos)

(We also hope to start a high school club on Wednesdays, meeting on Bruntsfield Links next to Marchmont St.)
Tuesdays will start on Tuesday 1st September, end on Tuesday 17th November. Thursdays will start on Thursday 3rd September, end on Thursday 19th November. Please act soon to book your child’s place. Please also let me know if you won’t be continuing so I know how many spaces will be available.
Please find further details of the clubs below.
Bike Skills:
3.05pm – 3.40pm. (P1s & P2s)These sessions will be for children who can ride their own bikes and want to have fun improving their skills with our games and fun courses. We have found that absolute beginners or those with stabilisers are best to contact me to arrange an individual lesson to help them quickly get over that difficult stage without falling and losing confidence.
Cycle Adventure Club
3.40pm-4.40pm (P3-P7)These sessions are for older children that are confident riders and good listeners. We explore interesting places using the hidden quiet routes that I know. We also improve our skills, bike tricks and road safety.
Please bring well maintained and well fitting bicycle, helmet, gloves and jacket.

This is 11 weeks at £5.00 payable in advance. £55.Please complete the attached form (if new or details changed) and email it back to us, and provide payment via bank transfer with Child’s name+school as reference. Bank details available on request. If you are unable to do a bank transfer, please contact us.
Sessions will be run by myself. I am a former Scottish Champion track cyclist and qualified Cycle Trainer. My goal is that everyone can enjoy the freedom and health benefits of cycling. I can be contacted by email: ross.crook@btinternet.com
